Cooperative education, or co-op, is a more than 90-year old program that requires Antioch College students to complete alternating terms of full-time study and full-time work.
WHY CO-OP?
We believe that academics and life experiences are strengthened when linked, and that students get the most of their education when they can immediately connect the theory of the classroom to practices in the real, working world. Our experience shows that students who experience a work environment are able to gain more focus and perspective on their learning.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
In alternating quarters, students apply for full-time jobs to be pursued (mostly) off campus. These jobs will initially be available in the area around the College. Later in their careers, students will work in regional, national and international locations. Employers wishing to hire Antioch College students are encouraged to write to e-mail: coopedu@antiochcollege.org.
