Vanae Iesha Pate is pursuing more life for herself, through education within the four walls of Antioch and also her surroundings. Along with creating her major (African Amer., studies and performing arts) she is very active within her community; Dayton, Oh. Vanae is an event coordinator and participant for Dayton's own "Baldwin Cafe" who prior to covid, held its own Black owned brick and mortar bookstore. Through B.C Vanae and another Baldwin member coordinated the "Lit Exchange" meaning a literature exchange, that held performances and vendor spacing and of course the ability to exchange and purchase books and more! Along with supporting Baldwin Cafe, she lends a hand when she can to other organizations such as Dayton Young Black Professionals, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Dayton Black Cultural Festival and more! Through her light and encouraging energy she hopes to outline her Nana (Sylvia J. Pate) footsteps with uplifting Black Americans in her community and around.
