Agroecology Program Assistant

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Assist in daily farm tasks, including but not limited to bed preparation/soil work, weeding, propagation, transplanting, seeding, irrigation, chicken care, light construction/carpentry, food processing, etc etc – Inspire, supervise and manage crews of high school students working on the above tasks. – Work closely with the local Soup Kitchen to provide fresh local produce to people in need. – Maintain records of harvests, composting, and planting.

Qualifications:

Previous experience farming/gardening preferred. Experience working in a job that is primarily physical labor. Experience working with youth in an outdoor, experiential setting. High degree of organization, focus, flexibility and creative problem-solving. An excellent and durable sense of humor.
