Assistant Curator; Education Intern
Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Visually document, record and maintain computer records of art activities, both at community sites and the Museum; • Assist in maintaining and updating the visual documentation for eight community groups working with the Community Arts Initiative. Should be proficient with recording devices; digital cameras, video and their application to computer files; must have an interest in community outreach, working with children and be visually creative. • Students will assist in design of new projects, assist in community outreach activities, • Participate in planning meetings, and assist with scheduling the groups and record keeping. Students will be responsible for the planning and preparation of activities and exhibits of participating partnership groups. Specific duties: • Video & Photo Documentation • Assist in preparing CAI Yearly Report • Assist with the Artist Project jury selection • Creating PowerPoint presentations • Assisting in planning and hanging children’s art activities • Assist in designing materials for the exhibit • Assisting in Community Art activities • Some administrative duties as required
Qualifications:
Proficiency using recording equipment – especially digital cameras, video and audio recorders • Strong organizational skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to multi-task and be flexible • Ability to commit to 14 hours per week through mid December
