Miller Fellow

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Glen Helen seeks Miller Fellows at the Trailside Museum and as Land Steward Fellows. Trailside Miller Fellows work will include: educate visitors on the ecology, geology, botany, wildlife, history, and regulations of the Nature Preserve, research and develop children’s programming, develop interpretive materials for trail use, provide onsite contact for volunteers in and around the museum, conduct research, and employ technical writing and graphic design toward the development of permanent and temporary museum displays assist with Glen Helen administrative support, including finance, marketing, and event coordination. The Land Steward Fellow work will include: removing invasive plants, and restoring native species when possible, educate visitors on the ecology, geology, botany, wildlife, history, and rules of the preserve, operate land management equipment, including chipper, chainsaw, and other power tools, assist in coordination of land management group activities with staff and volunteers, trail maintenance, including bridge and walkway construction, trail construction and closures, propagate and restore native fauna through plantings.
